![]() ![]() Honestly, I wish the author would return to this story and really flesh it out, work on it with a structural editor or someone to develop the plot and characters. Desmond’s freakishly powerful and pisses off too many people. The characters aren’t the jerks they seem to be, and they’re not as virtuous as they act like either. The story (or lies) start to unravel, and by the halfway point, the story takes a dramatic turn. Perhaps the main character would fall in love with his new boss. At the beginning, the plot seemed so innocent, just another story about office politics but with a paranormal element. ![]() ![]() Actually, figuring the plot felt like a mystery unto itself. If it weren’t for the writing, it would’ve been a fascinating story.Īlthough the storytelling could’ve been better, it didn’t stop me from figuring out the plot. But after I read through the entire book, I thought the plot is complex and the characters aren’t just black and white. The writing style is disjointed, and the reader needs to put together the puzzle pieces to figure out what the author’s trying to say. ![]() I remember picking up this book a while ago, reading the first chapter, getting sort of confused, and then putting it back down. ![]()
